The significant improvement in performance was driven by two key factors. At the market level, freight rates in the domestic market recovered during the first half of 2026, while the international ocean-going dry bulk shipping market also performed robustly. At the operational level, the company accurately seized the market cycle window, continued to expand its controlled fleet capacity, and actively grew its chartered-in vessel transport operations. Revenue and gross profit from both domestic and international trading zones increased, jointly driving a substantial rise in total profit.

During the first half of 2026, Haitong Development purchased four additional dry bulk vessels and secured the capacity of seven multipurpose heavy-lift vessel newbuildings through finance leases and operating leases. Once all vessels (excluding the newbuilding capacity) have been delivered, the company will have 15 dry bulk vessels on long-term charter (with a charter period of one year or more), 65 owned dry bulk vessels, 4 multipurpose heavy-lift vessels, and 3 tankers, representing total controlled fleet capacity of 5.5 million deadweight tonnes, ranking it among the top domestic enterprises engaged in dry bulk transportation in terms of fleet size.

Haitong Development stated that in its international ocean-going dry bulk operations, the company flexibly executed positioning voyages, achieving efficient scheduling on a global scale. While rigorously controlling risk, it selectively captured high-premium routes to enhance business returns.

Furthermore, in line with business development needs and market capacity supply, the company actively engaged in chartered-in vessel operations. By integrating its management strengths, brand advantages, and high-quality client resources, it has further augmented its core business revenue through the "asset-light operating model" of its chartered-in business, progressively building a resource-management-oriented shipping platform.

In the domestic coastal transport segment, Haitong Development actively expanded its market presence, with domestic voyage charter freight volumes reaching 24.749 million tonnes in the first half of 2026, a year-on-year increase of 31.61% .

Haitong Development stated that going forward, it will continue to pursue a steady and sustainable operating model, consistently consolidate and develop its base of high-quality clients, strive to increase its market influence and bargaining power at ports and on the cargo side, and expand its market share.
