Recently, we have noted that certain foreign media outlets, citing unnamed U.S. officials, have alleged that COSCO SHIPPING vessels are equipped with so‑called “covert devices” used for intercepting military communications and gathering intelligence. Such claims are completely unfounded, and we firmly oppose them.

COSCO SHIPPING has always operated in an international, market‑oriented, and fully compliant manner, and has long been committed to providing reliable and efficient shipping and logistics services to customers worldwide. The communications, navigation, safety, and operational equipment installed on our vessels are all used solely for normal commercial operations, including navigation safety, ship‑to‑shore liaison, and emergency response. There is no such practice as using commercial vessels to intercept military communications or collect intelligence, as alleged in the reports.
