Adora Cruises recently announced the appointment of Li Bin as Captain of the Adora Mediterranea, with full responsibility for the cruise ship's maritime operations, safety management, and related day-to-day administration.

Captain Li Bin brings over two decades of extensive seafaring experience, underpinned by solid maritime expertise and significant experience in the operational management of large cruise ships. Through his rigorous professionalism and outstanding competence, Captain Li will further support Adora Cruises in strengthening the fleet's safety and operational standards, enhancing the quality of meticulous ship navigation management, and delivering a safe, high-quality seafaring experience to guests. This May, Captain Li participated fully in the sea trials of China's second domestically built large cruise ship, the Adora Flora.

Adora Cruises has consistently been committed to building a talent pool for China's cruise industry in the field of maritime operations and to promoting the sustainable development of the domestic cruise sector. This March, the company appointed Wei Zhiyi as Captain of the Adora Magic City, the first domestically built large cruise ship, successfully achieving a breakthrough in the localisation of the core command position aboard a Chinese-built large cruise vessel. This marks significant progress in Adora Cruises' efforts to localise its operational talent and enhance its independent cruise operating capabilities.

On the same day, Adora Cruises also released its Marine Cadet Training and Learning Guidance Handbook. Tailor-made for cadets in the three core maritime operational roles—deck, engine, and electro-technical—the handbook is designed in line with the fleet's operational characteristics. It focuses on cruise-specific content and sets out a cadetship learning pathway aligned with Adora's fleet operating standards, aimed at systematically and methodically enhancing the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of marine cadets. Earlier, Adora Cruises had launched its Marine Cadet Training Programme, through which it will partner with leading maritime universities in China to recruit cadets for the core maritime operational departments of deck and engine. The programme plans to train over 100 deck and engine officers, building a reserve of senior management talent for the Adora fleet and the wider Chinese cruise industry.

Adora Cruises currently operates three large cruise ships—the first domestically built large cruise ship Adora Magic City, the "Art Ship" Adora Mediterranea, and the Gulangyu under Astro Ocean Cruises—with itineraries covering East China, South China, North China, and Hong Kong, achieving year-round operations from multiple homeports. The second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora, is scheduled for delivery on November 6, 2026, with its maiden voyage set to depart from the Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Terminal on November 22. As its fleet expands, Adora Cruises will continue to cultivate a pipeline of cruise talent equipped with professional knowledge, practical skills, and a global outlook, supporting the high-quality development of China's cruise economy.
